Sure

http://peterschiffblog.blogspot.com/2010/06/investing-in-china.html
"I just think that you get more bang for your buck investing in Chinese stocks."

How is this trade working out?

Decoupling is a myth.

  1. LOL I called Europacific back in the summer of '08 just to see what they'd say...guy wanted to get me in canadian oil funds and chinese shares.

That fund was developed after the 08/09 crash, if he would have had setup prior to 2008 it would look just like or similar to the SSE chart I post, although it may or may not have done slightly better or worse.

Basically, he is riding the same credit system as everyone else. I am not putting him up on a cross other than to point out the obvious.

Decoupling is a lie, China and Europe have actually lead the way down.

  7. I had every position (including PM's) liquidated by 11/09 and have sold just about everything else (literally) besides firearms, two kayaks/fishing/survival gear and a few hundred pounds of wheat, a truck, my wife's clothes and schoolteacher stuff and my steel fab equipment and handtools (which is all mobile and runs on my generator).

If we have to leave it'll just be a bed and common household shit that stays behind. I don't really feel comfortable holding this much cash but as long as everything holds together I'll be able to continue buying more equipment for my business at firesale prices and continue loading up on consumables and spare steel.

I'd like to hear what other people are doing if anything, hopefully this all blows over but history says otherwise.

  8. I can say what is right or wrong. I think this is going to be a case of which foxhole is best when the bombs start falling... who knows?

    My objectives:
1.) Get as far away from people as possible
2.) Get as far away from people as possible
    3.) Buying some luck
4.) Home clear of debt, of all debt if possible
5.) Ability to manufacture food and produce clean water
6.) Ability to produce some energy
    7.) Supplies
    8.) Firearms and ammo
9.) Cash until the system completely implodes
10.) Some gold and silver coins in case it is used for bartering at some future date
11.) A bunch of beer so watching the fireworks is enjoyable for a while or the ability to make wine :)
12.) Did I mention get away from people

  9. I would include a respirator (virus/toxins p100). The water filter is good, but the energy source to boil it is better. I don't know about avoiding all people... Cities or densely populated areas, hell yeah. Have enough firearms/ammo to supply your trusted neighbors. Either way, isolation means you better have an M60 and claymores to keep vicious lemmings at bay. Oh and a few dogs for alarm, protection, or barbecue.

  13. Right outside this lazy summer home
you ain't got time to call your soul a critic no. Right outside the lazy gate of winter's summer home, wond'rin' where the nut-thatch winters, wings a mile long just carried the bird away.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world, the heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings, But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

There comes a redeemer, and he slowly too fades away, And there follows his wagon behind him that's loaded with clay. And the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom, and decay,
and night comes so quiet, it's close on the heels of the day.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world, the heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings, But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own,
And sometimes we visit your country and live in your home, sometimes we ride on your horses, sometimes we walk alone, sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world, the heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings, But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

    Lemming song, but good...
